A video has recently surfaced to confirm what has long been rumored. John Fogerty wrote the song Centerfield during his tenure in CCR but chose to scrap the hit in hopes of taking it solo. When he did leave, he waited over a decade before bringing it to the world, but why? John was trying to avoid legal trouble thinking the song would be beyond the statutes of limitations at the time of it’s release. Criminal or not, it is a damn good song.
